IT'S OFFICIAL - WE ARE FLORIDIANS

We went to Okaloosa Tax Collector office to get our drivers license and plates.  It took 2 1/2 hours to complete these tasks.
It's official - We're Floridians

With that all done we now use Florida as our domicile or home state.  We were given the choose of 3 different license plates: Okaloosa, Sunshine State or IN GOD WE TRUST.  Guess which one we got.
IN GOD WE TRUST

We decided to stay here at Sunset King Lake RV Resort in Defuniak Springs, Florida for a week to go through things we have just put in the RV without really putting it in a place.

FINALLY IN FLORIDA

We are now at Sunset King Lake Resort, DeFuniak Springs, Florida. We left Spartanburg NE/Gaffney KOA in South Carolina this morning at 9:00 am.  We have been in 4 states: South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama and Florida.  When we left Missouri we were in Central Time Zone then while in Virginia we were in Eastern Time Zone and then today we are back in Central Time Zone.  Why did we spend the time changing the clocks?
We’re in the area we want to be in, to set up our domicile.  We can finally slow down and stay in the area for a while.  No more running non-stop.
The temperature is 73 degrees this evening.  We sat outside after setting up for a while.  We can’t wait to put our feet in the sand.
We will post things from the last few days now we have time.

You know your in the South when you see this.

MISSOURI COLD

Got maybe 1" of snow Saturday but boy it's cold.  Got down below zero last night and going to be colder Sunday night.  It's 6:30 pm Sunday night and its 9°.  Glad we waited before leaving out.  Had the propane bottles topped off for another cold night.  The underbelly is staying surprising warm.  I didn't get the water tank filled today because of the other things we were trying to get done.
Went to Clay's birthday party this afternoon.  He will be turning 13.
I tried to add water tonight but just to cold.  The water froze in the hose before I could get everything going.  I should've had Joyce help me so it would've went faster.  But you know how us guys are.  Do it by ourselves.
We are sitting in the RV watching "Sound of Music".

WAITING OUT THE WEATHER

We have decided to wait out the cold front and bad weather.  We will try and leave out the first part of next week.  With the bad road conditions we are better off sitting in our driveway.  For now we'll keep filling the propane bottles trying to keep everything from freezing.  We wish we were worried about tracking sand in instead of snow and ice.

Happy Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving.  We went to Carl and Eileen's for dinner.  There was a great turnout.
Always plenty of food and laughs

We then made our way to the Plaza for the lighting ceremony.  It has become an annual event for our family.
Beautiful night with family

HOW MUCH WILL YOU GIVE ME FOR IT

So far I believe what I have read in some of the RV posts.  Getting rid of your possessions is one of the hardest and most time consuming part of getting ready to go full time RV'ing.  We have sorted and gathered, carried and moved so many things you wonder where did we have all of it.  We had a beautiful day for our auction and the yard is picked up mainly from the folks looking for free deals.
We are know sorting through what we kept to go into the RV.  We have most of the RV supplied but know are adding the things we can't live without from the house.  There's not enough room that's for sure. We are parked in our driveway going back and forth between the house and the RV.  We are feeling more like it is getting closer to time to hit the road since selling a lot of our worldly possessions.

7/1/2016 Harrisonville All Star Rodeo

Went to the Harrisonville MO to watch the rodeo. We had family members roping in the slack that starts after the regular rodeo.  The rodeo started at 8:00 pm on Friday and we left at 3:25 am on Saturday morning.  We met Bullseye the Rodeo Clown aka Kirk Davis.  Joyce helped him by videoing one of his performances LIVE.  It went out to his Facebook page.  After the rodeo he went and cleaned up and sat and visited with us.  It was a beautiful evening.

Manny's in Kansas City, Missouri

We was looking for a Mexican restaurant and found Manny's in the Crossroad district.  Good amount of food and great taste.  The parking is the only problem.
Had to have some custard to finish off the evening.  This Twisters was on 135th and Antioch in Overland Park, KS
